The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism published a report in 2017 that looked into the concept of moral injury.
The authors of the report defined moral injury as the hurt done to a person’s conscience or moral compass from perpetrating, witnessing or failing to prevent acts that transgress personal moral and ethical values or codes of conduct.
Their report outlined a series of recommendations for journalists and editors.
